Why Camino al Sol
Traditional yagé (ayahuasca) ceremonies, attentive support and live music, brought together by three families at Yaogará, our home in the mountains of El Retiro, Antioquia.
Rooted in Putumayo
Diego Marmolejo grew up near the Putumayo River, learning traditional medicine within his family. His practice draws on around twenty years of study with elders and plant work across Colombia. At Yaogará, he leads ceremonies and cultivates the medicinal plants, keeping the retreat close to its roots.
Meet Diego →Small by design
Group retreats are capped at 12 participants. Every guest completes a health and medication screening before confirmation. Facilitator and ancestral therapist Andrea Díaz leads a team that explains what to expect, notices when someone needs support and adjusts the pace. There’s space to rest, listen or sit something out. Sharing is your choice.
Meet Andrea →Carried by live music
Medicine songs and live instruments accompany each ceremony through the night. Musicians sit with the group alongside Diego and the facilitators. Guests mention the music again and again in their reviews, especially the support they felt during difficult moments.

Three families share the work: leading ceremonies, caring for guests, cooking, offering plant baths and ancestral massage, and tending the land. That shared life shapes every day, from breakfast in the bohío to the quiet hours between ceremonies. Guests often describe it the same way: family, community, home.
